Let the Games Begin!

“Rain, Rain, Go Away”… and it did! We had perfect weather for our Sports Day on Friday, June 15th. And what a fun day it was!! This year’s theme was “The Olympics”. All students, carrying their team banners, were led to the field by two torch bearers (Ruby and Agam). Each team then presented their cheer before the announcement was made to “Let the Games Begin”. Once again, parents played an enormous role; cutting boxes of watermelons, leading teams and various play stations, barbequing, serving lunch, running the concession stand, selling t-shirts, and cleaning up. The day ended with the traditional softball game between the Grade Sevens and Staff (with a few parents added to round up our numbers). There were many smiling (though exhausted!) faces as we parted ways for the weekend.
